Is there any other choice than the editions while evaluating Salesforce CRM?

So does that mean i can only choose one of these and later add few add ons from appexchange or i can choose say only the sales and marketing of the unlimited edition.
Plz answer quickly its holding my work here.
This question is for ppl having sufficient experience in Customer Relationship Management Software like Salesforce, Seibel etc.
So don’t worry if you have only ?????????? after seeing this question.
